EOD Team 04 responded to a call-out in Prey Chkar Village, Pong Leu Commune, Chi Kreng District of Siem Reap Province where they found one Chinese 60 mm type 27 mortar, two (2) Kipcharns, and eight shock tubes. A shock tube detonator is a non-electric explosive initiator that is small in diameter with a hollow plastic tubing. Shock tube detonators transport a shock wave signal to an explosive. This detonator is illegal and hard to identify for someone that is foreign to mine action. Responding to a callout from local authorities, our Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team 4 were shocked to find this detonator at the scene. Local authorities suggested that this detonator was purchased overseas. Further investigation will be conducted by local authorities, and our EOD Team 4 will be ready to provide assistance
